Why PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course?
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, the dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community. PADI Junior Open Water Divers ages 10 and 11 are certified to dive with a diving professional (Divemaster or above) or a parent. PADI Junior Open Water Divers age 12 to 15 are certified to dive with a parent of responsible adult.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who is age 10 to 14 and in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Jr. Open Water Diver certification. If you are age 15 and above there is the PADI Open Water Diver Course available.
What will I do?
Home study is the first step toward a full PADI Jr. Open Water certification. All of the required classroom and pool training for recreational PADI Scuba certification can be completed, in most cases, in as little as one week. The course is broken into three parts to offer students the highest level of training combined with the utmost flexibility to fit into anyone’s busy schedule. The course consists of:
Home Study
Students will begin at home, at their own pace, by reading the PADI Open Water Course book and watching the accompanying DVD/Video. Students will complete the homework (Knowledge Reviews) at the end of each of the five chapters of the book. Knowledge Reviews must be completed prior to class attendance.
Classroom Work (one evening)
Students will be lectured and tested by one of our PADI instructors. Lectures will cover only the information students are having difficulty with or do not understand. Classroom work is on average a single evening or afternoon commitment.
Pool Sessions (one full evening)
Students will learn all water skills in one of our contracted pool facilities under the direct supervision of one of our PADI instructors.
What happens next?
Upon completing your pool session,you and your instructor go over the skills you developed in the confined water training during open water dives. These dives are usually completed in just two days. After the successful completion of the last open water dive, you will be awarded your PADI certification card which is good for a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. The PADI card will be recognized all over the world as a certification that you are a safe and properly trained PADI Junior Open Water scuba diver
What will it cost?
The complete open water course which includes classroom work, SCUBA equipment, pool training, and four open water dives is $160.00 plus course materials. Students need only provide mask, fins and snorkel, explosure suit, and dive boots
